Small World - Architectural Models as Sculpture

Published on 25-01-2010 by Skyscrapernews.com
Expanding on their established format, Art and Architecture is going to start running a series called Open Studio that moves towards being hosted in the actual workspaces of architects instead of the traditional debating model.

Starting off with Amodels who are based in Kings cross, the event features a guided tour of the studio to get a hands-on idea of the work the firm carries out, something that first-time visitors to an architect's studio should find particularly illuminating, followed by an informal presentation by Christian Spencer-Davies who will be assisted by two leading architects - Christophe Egret of Studio Egret West, and Andy Groarke of Comody Groake.

The more informal atmosphere should allow the audience to interact in a much less rigid format with the architects, and more naturally too. Lubricating this flow of conversation will a few glasses of wine.

The event, Small World: Architectural Models as Sculpture, will be held at Amodels, unit 17, Cedar way, London nw1 0pd, on Wednesday the 25th of February from 6.30 pm, and it goes without saying the nearest tube station is Kings Cross.
